M.Sc (Integrated) (5 years) Programmes Admission-2013 
There are two M.Sc. (Integrated) courses of 5 year duration are offered by the KAU in Biotechnology and Climate Change Adaptation for Plus Two students
M.Sc. (Integrated) Biotechnology:
No. of Seats: 20
M.Sc Biotechnology (Integrated): The M.Sc Biotechnology (Integrated) course was started during 2009-10 with budgetary support from Govt of Kerala with the objective of improving the quality of biotechnology education in the state
The duration of the course is 5 years (after plus two)
The course will be conducted in multi-institutional mode, involving institutions engaged in biotechnology teaching/research, to facilitate the utilization of highly competent manpower and facilities
This course is offered at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani, and Thiruvananthapuram
Basic Biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Physics, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Genomics, Proteomics, Immunology, Enzyme Technology, Computational Biology, Agricultural Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Environmental Biotechnology, Bio-Safety, Bioethics and IPR will be the essential areas covered by the course 
M.Sc Climate Change Adaptation (Integrated): The M.Sc (Integrated) Climate Change Adaptation Programme was started during 2010 and is offered at ACCER, Main campus, Thrissur
This course envisaged to be of high standard, conducted in multi institutional mode, making use of the manpower and facilities of various reputed institutions in the relevant field
The programme provides ample opportunity for the students to understand the processes and activities that influence climate, analyze and interpret the risks and opportunities associated with climate and climate change, and make recommendations of future adaption and mitigation strategies
The programme provides an integrated approach to the analysis of climate change in the context of agriculture and environmental management
The interaction of the atmosphere with the other components of the earth system, and the economic and policy issues associated with climate change, sustainability, agricultural productivity and food security are central concerns in the response to climate variability and future climate change

Eligibility

Biotechnology
Students having passed 10+2 level examination of various boards in India, as well as CBSE or equivalent to 10+2 level examinations with science subjects will be eligible for applying for admission to this course
The student should have secured minimum 60% marks for general category and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates or equivalent grades
Admission will be based on the performance in an entrance examination conducted by the Kerala Agricultural University
Climate Change Adaptation 
Minimum eligibility is a pass in Plus Two (with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics) examination or equivalent with 60% marks in aggregate for general category and 50% marks for SC/ST
Reservation: Reservation of seats shall be governed by the rules of the Kerala State Govt
Duration: The minimum prescribed duration shall be 10 semesters (five academic years) excluding the period of temporary discontinuance, if any

The downloaded application should be printed on A4 size paper
The filled in application forms may be submitted along with application fee as detailed below to the Registrar, Kerala Agricultural University, KAU PO, Thrissur, Kerala-680656 so as to reach on or before the date and time indicated in the notification
Application Fee: General category Rs 750/-, SC/ST Rs 375/-
(Student inside Kerala): Fee may be remitted at any SBT Branch in the state, to the Kerala Agricultural University Comptroller’s SB Account No-57006546701 maintained at SBT KAU Branch, Main Campus, Vellanikkara and the counterfoil of the remittance slip must be attached with the application form
(Students outside Kerala) The application fee shall be paid by way of demand draft drawn in favour of the Comptroller, KAU, Vellanikkara payable at the SBT, KAU Campus Branch, Vellanikkara
Application forms without counterfoils of fees remitted/demand draft attached will be summarily rejected
A passport size photograph of the candidate bearing his/her signature should be affixed on the application and admit card in the appropriate place
Each application for admission shall be accompanied with the following, Counterfoil of fees remitted/ demand draft for the application fee as prescribed, Community certificate obtained from a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Village officer in the case of SC/ST candidates, Attested copies of certificates in proof of age, qualifications, mark list of qualifying examination etc, One self-addressed stamped (worth Rs 10/-) envelope of size 23cmx10cm
Documents sent with the application are not returnable
The filled in application form along with the application fee and other relevant documents, has to reach the Registrar, Kerala Agricultural University, KAU PO, Thrissur-680656, before 3.00 p.m. on 29th June, 2013
Selection: The selection of candidates will be based on an entrance examination conducted by the Kerala Agricultural University
The questions will be objective type and based on the syllabus (Physics and Chemistry, Biology/Maths and General Knowledge) for theKerala Entrance Examination-2013 of the Commissioner for Entrance Examination, Kerala 
Entrance Exam: The entrance examinations will be held in Thrissur, Kerala
If there are more candidates, the examination will be held at three places, namely College of Agriculture, Thiruvananthapuram, KAU Main campus, Thrissur and College of Agriculture, Padanakkad (Kasargod)
Allotment of the course will be based on the preference by the candidate and rank in the common entrance exam
Paper-I: Physics and Chemistry; 10th August, 2013Saturday, 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 Noon
Paper-II: Mathematics/Biology and General Knowledge; 10th August, 2013 Saturday, 2.00 p.m. to 3.20 p.m.
