The exams were scheduled to be held from May 4 till June 14. The decision regarding the cancellation and postponement of the CBSE exams 2021 came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting with Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' and other concerned officials.  As the Board announced this decision, it also left students with some questions. "Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams," tweeted the education minister.

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said fresh dates will be announced after June 1, following a review of the COVID-19 situation. A notice of at least 15 days will be given to the students before the start of the examinations so that there is no inconvenience to the students,

Fresh guidelines are awaited to be released by the CBSE on the internal assessment of Class 10 and 12. For the time being, CBSE Board Exam 2021, practical examination, project and internal assessment is scheduled to be held between March 1 to June 11, 2021.
