Degree (Full Time)
1) M.A. /M.Sc in Population Studies

No of Seats: 50 Seats with Govt. of India fellowship
Duration: Two years
Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade. Preference shall be given to candidates holding a bachelor’s degree in Math/Stat/Eco or any social science subject
Age: The upper age limit is 25 years as on 30th June 2014
Selection Criteria: The selection will be made on the basis of a written test and personal interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the test and interview
Written Test and Interview: 19th - 20th June 2014
Commencement of Course: 14th July, 2014
Fellowship/Sponsorship: Each selected Indian student will be awarded a Govt. of India fellowship @ Rs.5000/- per month
Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be considered as per the Government of India norms
2) Master of Science in Bio-Statistics and Epidemiology
No of Seats: 50 Seats with Govt. of India fellowship
Duration: Two years
Eligibility: Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree from recognized universities in India or abroad in core subject of Mathematics or Statistics or with atleast two full papers of Mathematics or Statistics with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade will be eligible for admission to the above programme
Age: The upper age limit is 30 years as on 30th June, 2014
Selection Criteria: On the basis of a common entrance test, personal interview, and academic merits
Written Test and Interview: 24th - 25th June, 2014 
Commencement of Course: 14th July 2014
Fellowship/Sponsorship: Each selected Indian student will be awarded a Govt. of India fellowship @ Rs. 5000/- per month

3) Master of Population Studies (M.P.S)

Eligibility: Master's degree from a recognized university with at least 55% of marks or equivalent grade in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Geography and Anthropology
Age: The upper age limit is 30 years as on 30th June, 2014
Selection Criteria: On the basis of a common entrance test, personal interview, and academic merits
Written Test and Interview: 26th – 27th June, 2014 
Commencement of Course: 14th July, 2014
Fellowship: Each selected Indian student will be awarded a Government of India fellowship @ Rs.5000/- per month
Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be considered as per the Govt. of India norms
4) Master of Philosophy in Population Studies (M.Phil)
No of Fellowships: 50 Seats with Govt. of India fellowship
Duration: One year (full time)
Eligibility: Master in Population Studies/M.A./M.Sc in Demography from a recognized university with at least 55% of marks or equivalent
Age: The upper age limit is 30 years as on 30th June, 2014
Selection Criteria: On the basis of a common entrance test, personal interview, and academic merits
Written Test and Interview: 03rd – 4th July, 2014 
Commencement of Course: 14th July, 2014
Fellowship: Each selected Indian student will be awarded a Government of India fellowship @ Rs.6000/- per month. In addition, a contingency grant of Rs.5000/- per annum shall be paid for approved contingency expenses
Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be considered as per the Govt of India norms
5) Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) in Population Studies
No of GOI Fellowships: 23 (Seats likely to increase). In addition, UGC-JRF and other fellowship holders will also be considered for admission as per availability of seats
Duration: 3 years full time
Eligibility: Candidates having M.Phil or master’s degree in Population Studies of a recognised university with at least 55% of marks
Age: The upper age limit is 30 years for general candidates and 35 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women candidates as on 30th June, 2014
Selection Criteria: Selection will be made on the basis of performance of the candidates in written test on research methodology and personal interview
The Institute gives preference to admit to its Ph.D Programme, candidates who have M.Phil in Population Studies
Fellowship: The selected Indian students will be awarded a Govt. of India fellowship initially for one year only and is extendable on yearly basis as per rules of the Institute
Each eligible candidate with NET qualification for lecturership only either in Population Studies or its interdisciplinary subjects will be awarded the Govt. of India fellowship @ Rs.16000/- per month for first and second years and Rs.18000/- per month for the third year respectively
Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be considered as per the Govt. of India norms
6) Master of Population Studies (Distance Learning)
Eligibility: Admission to this course is open to all those with a Master's degree from any recognized University in any of the Social Science subjects including Mathematics, Statistics, Health & allied subjects
Preference will be given to candidates having experience in population, Health and /or in allied areas
No. of Seats: There are 100 seats available for admission to this course
Selection Criteria: Selection of candidates for the course will be done by a selection committee duly constituted by the Director of the Institute
Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates will be considered as per the Govt of India norms
Duration: This course can be completed in a minimum period of two years, as well within a maximum period of four years
7) Post Doctoral Fellowship (P.D.F.)
No. of GOI Fellowships: Five (05)
Eligibility: Candidates having Ph.D degree in Population Studies of a recognised university
Desirable: Good publication in peer reviewed journal, publication of books and research reports
Age: The upper age limit is 40 years as on 30th June 2014
Selection Criteria: On the basis of submission of comprehensive research proposal and interview. The Institute shall not bear travel expense of the candidates called for the presentation and interview
Fellowship: The selected Indian candidates will be awarded a Govt of India fellowship initially for one year only and is extendable for one more year on genuine case; each eligible candidate will be awarded the Govt. of India fellowship @ Rs.50000/- per month

Master’s degree in any social science subject/ Health/Math/Stat or allied subjects from recognized Indian/Foreign universities.

Ph.D. degree from a recognized university, in Population Studies or any other allied subject wherein issues related to population, health and development has been dealt with. The upper age limit is 40 years as on 31.7.2014.
