GENDER, TRANSVERSAL POLITICS AND INTERSECTIONALITY: A WORKSHOP ON NEW METHODS IN FEMINIST RESEARCH
We are glad to inform you that the Inter University Centre for Social Science Research and Extension, Mahatma Gandhi University is organising a 5 day research methodology workshop at the School of Social Sciences from 2nd -6th September 2013. This year the workshop will interrogate the concept of intersectionality from a multidisciplinary perspective. The concept has radically changed the way diversity and difference among women was conceived, and also in developing new approaches in understanding inequality and complex dynamics of oppression and privilege, in theorizing identity, and individual experiences. This workshop seeks to explore, discuss the concept intersectionality and transversal politics. We invite scholars who are working on conceptual and theoretical advances of the concept or scholars who explore the intersection of Gender with caste, class, tribe, sexuality, disability, ethnicity, location and any other defining categories.
We would be grateful if you could widely circulate this call to people you think may be interested.
Thanks and regards,
