Kochi: Army Institute of Technology, Pune will admit candidates to its B Tech Programmes, based on the All India Ranking as published by CBSE taking into consideration, the scores obtained in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE (Main) 2016) and marks obtained in Class XII Examinations (60% of Entrance exam marks + of 40% normalized scores in Class XII marks).
Those desirous of being considered for AIT Pune admissions are required to appear in JEE Main 2016 and also apply to AIT for Admission. Failing to fill up any one of the forms will lead to rejection of admission to AIT.
AIT offers 300 seats for Engineering Course commencing in July 2016. There are 120 seats in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, 60 seats each in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Information Technology.
Admission at AIT is open only to Children/wards of serving/retired Army personnel. The parent should have completed minimum 10 years of service in the Army. Detailed eligibility criteria will be published in the Prospectus being made available in February 2016. The candidate must fulfil the age criteria requirements as per JEE Main 2016.
Applicant must be an Indian citizen or a PIO who obtains Indian citizenship before admission. Applicant must have passed in/appeared for, Class XII examination or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational Subject. Candidate should obtain at least 45% marks in each of the subjects. Applicant should appear for JEE (Main) 2016 examination and should acquire appropriate/required ranking as per All India Ranking List published by CBSE for admission to Engineering Colleges. Last year, the last admitted student’s All India Ranking was 1,29,893.
Interested persons should apply for JEE Main 2016, ‘Online’ at http://www.jeemain.nic.in as per the schedule of JEE (Main). Information Bulletin of JEE is available on JEE (Main) website. AIT does not deal with distribution of JEE Main forms and queries if any. JEE Main 2016 will be conducted in the month of April 2016.
The applicants would be able to apply to AIT, Pune, online at http://www.aitpune.com from 15th March 2016, after receipt of JEE (Main) Roll Number (Exam seat Number). Cost of Online application is Rs 884/-, inclusive of processing charges.
Last date for submission of completed Application Form to AIT, Pune is 25th April, 2016.
Admission at AIT, Pune, will tentatively take place within two weeks after the date of declaration of CBSE All India Rank. Admission schedule and Joining Instructions will be hosted on the AIT websitehttp://www.aitpune.com in the month of June, 2016.
