This scheme provides financial assistance to 60,000 students belonging to minority communities in India each year, on means-cum-merit basis to enable them to pursue professional and technical courses.
Eligibility: Graduation and postgraduation students (technical or professional) with family income lesser than Rs. 2,50,000 per year.

Maulana Azad National Scholarship for Minority Girls

To recognise, promote and assist meritorious girl students belonging to minority communities (i.e. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis) who cannot continue their education without financial support.
Eligibility: Class 11 girl students with family income less than Rs. 1 lakh per year are eligible to apply.

Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child
UGC has introduced this scholarship with an aim to support direct costs of girl education in master-level courses.
Eligibility: Any single girl child of age less than 30 years, who happens to be the only child or twin daughter or fraternal daughter who has taken admission in a regular, full-time first-year master’s degree course from any recognised university.

DAAD Scholarships

JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarships

Applications have been invited from Indian nationals for the "JN Tata Endowment Loan Scholarships" for the academic year 2016-2017 for higher studies abroad in all disciplines and subjects. The J. N. Tata Endowment awards a one-time loan scholarship only at the beginning of the course to Indian nationals for full time Postgraduate/Ph.D./Postdoctoral studies abroad, in all fields, irrespective of caste, creed, gender or community. The amount to be awarded to each scholar by way of the loan scholarship is determined on the basis of the norms laid down for the purpose, and does not cover the full cost of studies. The amount awarded as the loan scholarship ranges between Rs.1,50,000/- and Rs.6,00,000/-. All selected applicants do not necessarily qualify for the maximum amount. The selected scholars may also qualify for a gift scholarship and travel assistance from our allied Trusts as may be decided at the sole discretion of the Trustees of the concerned Trusts. A gift scholarship can be for a maximum amount of Rs.10,00,000/- and the travel grant can be a maximum of Rs.50,000/-.

Eligibility Criteria:  
Applicants should be Indian nationals who are graduates of a recognised Indian University, with a consistently good academic record and other achievements to their credit.  Students in the final year of the degree course and those awaiting results are eligible to apply.  Mid-career professionals up to the age of 45, with a good academic record and experience in their fields for further research, specialisation or training may also apply. Candidates need not have the admission/offer letters from the Universities to which they have applied for the academic year 2016-2017 at the time of making the application. Candidates may, therefore update their application form once they secure admission and submit it again. Scholars going abroad for seminars, conferences and undergraduate studies are not eligible for a J. N. Tata Endowment Loan Scholarship. 

Application:
candidates have to download the application from http://jntataendowment.org/form/Application%20Endownment-Form.xlsm, fill it offline and submit it from the same email-id which is mentioned in the application form, along with a scanned copy of the letter of recommendation (LOR).

There is no specific date for submission but all completed application forms should be submitted at least 45 daysbefore the candidate departs overseas. For instance : if candidate scheduled to leave on 15th September then application should be submitted by 31st July.

Vidya Samunnathi Scholarship

Update: Last date to APPLY ONLINE for Vidya Samunnathi Scholarship Programme 2015-16 extended upto 5th January 2016.
Under this scheme, the students of economically backward forward communities will get educational scholarships and competitive assistance for their studies. Under this scheme scholarships will be given to students studying from high school level to post graduation.
Applicants should be from non-reservation forward community and a resident of Kerala. Annual income of the family should be less than 2 lakhs based on all sources. Only online applications are accepted.

District Merit Scholarship 2015-16
Update: District Merit Scholarship Last date extended to 30.11.2015

Online applications are invited from the students who passed with A+ grade to all subjects in SSLC examinations in March 2015 for the District Merit Scholarship 2015-16.

Applications are to be submitted online in the scholarship website of Department of Collegiate Education, www.dcescholarship.kerala.gov.in. The eligible candidates will be awarded Rs.1250/- and a merit certificate.

Snehapoorvam Scholarship Scheme

Snehapoorvam Scholarship Scheme will be launched to take care of children who have lost their parents and are finding it difficult to continue their studies.

Government has launched “SNEHAPOORVAM” as per the G.O (MS) No.36/2012/SWD dated 06/06/12 to provide financial support to orphans who are living in the family, with their relatives, friends, or the support of the community under the Social welfare Department implemented through Social Security Mission.

The mission has initiated the project that aims at bringing these children to the main stream of the society. Higher Secondary Students will get a monthly scholarship of Rs 750.Click the below link for Notification and Application form.

About BPL Scholarship

Government of Kerala has introduced a comprehensive merit-cum-means scholarship scheme for the Higher Secondary students of Government and Aided schools whose parents or guardians come under the BPL category.
The amount of scholarship was fixed at Rs.5000/-.The beneficiaries are selected at schools by a duly constituted committee.
The students of the Government and Aided Higher Secondary schools only are eligible for the BPL scholarship. Each school will be allotted a particular number of scholarships every year. The school selection committee shall select the eligible candidates from the applicants. 
The eligibility criterion of the scheme is merit cum means. Those students whose parents or guardians come under the BPL category and who have secured higher grades in their SSLC/any other equivalent examination are eligible to be selected for the scholarship.The scholarships allotted shall be disbursed to the eligible students on or before 31-12-2014.

INSPIRE Scholarship 2014
INSPIRE is an innovative programme developed by the the Department of Science & Technology to attract talent to the excitement and study of science at an early age, and to help the country build the required critical resource pool for strengthening and expanding the Science & Technology system and Research & Development base.

Applications for the year 2014 are invited from eligible candidates for INSPIRE Scholarship. Interested and eligible students must apply and submit their application with all essential documents through ONLINE mode only, through the web-portal www.online-inspire.gov.in.  This webportal will be open from 1st August 2014 (10-00 hrs) and will be available up to 31st October 2014 (17-00 hrs) for submission of applications.For more details , please follow the links below.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana 2014-15
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana  (KVPY)
The "Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana" (KVPY) is a program started in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to encourage students of Basic Sciences to take up research careers in Science. The aim of the program is to identify and encourage talented and motivated students to pursue career in research. Last date for closing of online application is 8th September 2014.

Eligibility

Stream SA: Students enrolled in XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2014-15 and having secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board examination. The students under this stream will be mentored for one year. Their fellowship will be activated when they enrol in an undergraduate course in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) after XII Standard(+2) securing a minimum of 60% (50%for SC/ST/PWD) mark or equivalent grade. During the mentoring period of one year, they will be invited for Regional Science Camp/National Science Camp and expenses for attending those camps will be met by KVPY.


Stream SX: Students enrolled in XII Standard/ (+2) (Science subjects) during the academic year 2013–14 and aspiring to join an undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. for the session 2014–15 provided they have secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the X Standard Board Examination. They must secure 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the XII standard Board Examination before taking up the fellowship, if awarded.
