Indian Maritime University (IMU) announces admission to the following courses at IMU Karaikal Campus and SCI Mumbai
Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) Leading to B.SC (Nautical Science) - One year course
 
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have studied from a recognized Board or University, up to 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
Those who have appeared for final examination and awaiting results can also apply

Selection Procedure: Selection to the course would be based on the performance by candidates at IMU CET January 2014 examinations scheduled to be held at different centers at Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Vishakapatnam, Kandla, Lucknow and Cochin on 04th Jan 2014 (Saturday) between 10.00 hrs a.m. to 13.00 hrs p.m.

How to Apply

The information brochure, application forms and bank challan (State Bank of India) can be downloaded from the IMU website: www.imu.edu.in
The payments for CET exams should be in favor of Indian Maritime University, Chennai. The payments through bank challan can be made at any branch of the bank located anywhere in India
After payment in the bank, a Journal number should be obtained from the bank
The application forms duly filled in all respects should be sent to “Controller of Examinations, Indian Maritime University, East Coast Road, Uthandi, Chennai-600119” in an envelope super-scribing over the envelope “Application for IMU-CET January 2014 exams for DNS Leading to B.Sc. All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) 2014

Veterinary Council of India invites applications for All India Pre-Veterinary Test for filling up 15% of total number of seats in Veterinary Colleges in India (except from Jammu & Kashmir state) from Indian Nationals for admission to 1st year of B.V.Sc & A.H. course for the academic year 2014-15
Students from the State of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to appear in this test, as that State has not adopted the provisions of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 in the State of Jammu and Kashmir
Duration of Course: The duration of B.V.Sc & A.H degree course is 5 years including a compulsory rotating internship of six months

Eligibility Criteria:

An applicant is eligible for admission to All India Pre-Veterinary Test if the following criteria are met with:
Nationality: Candidates should be Indian Nationals except the state of Jammu & Kashmir
Essential Qualification: He/She has passed the Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2
Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) education structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education; or
The Intermediate Science examination in Science from a recognized university/board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English
Minimum Marks: To be eligible for All-India Pre-Veterinary Test, candidates must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above
Further, he/she should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for General Category in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at, 10+2/Intermediate Science Examination
Provided also that to be eligible for All-India Pre-Veterinary Test the candidates must have passed the aforesaid subjects individually
For the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/the Scheduled Tribes or other special category (Other Backward Classes) of students as specified by the Govt from time to time, marks required for admission shall be 10% less than that prescribed for General Category
Age: He/She has attained or will attain the age of 17 years as on 31st December, 2014
Candidates attaining 17 years on 01st January, 2015 or later will not be eligible to appear at the All India Pre-Veterinary Test
Application Form: The information bulletin and application form can be obtained by post on payment of Rs 1600/- for General/OBC category and Rs 850/- for SC/ST category (including examination fee, processing and other charges) through a demand draft drawn in favour of Veterinary Council of India-Examination Fund payable at New Delhi on any scheduled bank from the office of Controller of Examination, Veterinary Council of India, ‘A’ Wing, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi-110066

Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (PGMEE)-2014


HIHT University invites application from the eligible candidates for admission into various PG medical courses conducted by Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences Colleges for the academic year 2014-15

Courses Offered:

M.D Programs: Anesthesiology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Microbiology, Paediatrics, Pathology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Radio-diagnosis
MS Programs: ENT, General Surgery, Obst and Gynae, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Otorhinolaryngology

Eligibility Criteria: A candidate, who holds MBBS degree or an equivalent qualification and who has obtained permanent registration with the MCI or any of the State Medical Councils after completing compulsory rotating internship shall be eligible to take this examination
However, a candidate who after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or equivalent examination), is undergoing 12 month compulsory rotating internship and is likely to complete the same by 31st March, 2014 can take up this examination
The candidate must produce a certificate from the head of institution that he/she will be completing internship by 31st March, 2014
But he/she will not be eligible for admission unless he/she has completed the compulsory rotating internship on or before 31st March, 2014

Pattern and Syllabus of PGMEE-2014
They have to obtain permanent MCI registration before joining the course
PGMEE-2014: There will be one paper of 3 (three) hours duration containing250 multiple choice questions consisting of all the subjects of MBBS curriculum
The questions will be single response objective type
The tentative number of questions from each subject will be as; Anatomy (10), Physiology (10), Biochemistry (10), Pharmacology (10), Pathology (15), Microbiology (15), Forensic Medicine (10), Social and Preventive Medicine (15), Ophthalmology (10), ENT (10), Medicine and Allied (50), Surgery and Allied (50), Obst and Gynae (30), Paediatrics (10)
The examination will be conducted in English medium only

The Postgraduate Medical Entrance Examination will be held on 02nd Feb, 2014 (Sunday, 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.)

The PGMEE-2014 will be held in New Delhi
The allotted centre will be conveyed to the candidate through the Admit cardfor PGMEE-2014
The Candidate must make his/her own arrangements to reach the Exam centre well in advance
Admit card: Admit cards will be sent to all the eligible candidates well in advance, on the correspondence address mentioned
In case of non-receipt of the admit card by 28th Jan, 2014, the candidate should either contact the Controller of Examinations office, HIHT University personally along with two photographs (as pasted in the Application Form) and photocopy of the Application Form for getting duplicate admit card or visit the University website www.hihtuniversity.edu.in for downloading the same
The candidate can also check the List of Rejected Applications (if any) posted on the website; candidates are advised to preserve their Admit Card till allotment of seat
Duplicate Admit Card will not be issued after the examination

How to Apply: 

A candidate seeking admission to the entrance examination is required to send his/her application in the prescribed format (alongwith the filled in admit card) which can be downloaded from the university website www.hihtuniversity.edu.in
The candidate should fill in the application form in his/her own handwriting (in capital letters) clearly and legibly
The application form must be accompanied with self attested photocopies of the following documents; date of birth certificate or high school certificate containing date of birth; mark sheets of MBBS examinations (all professional examinations); MBBS degree or provisional passing certificate; Internship completion certificate or certificate from the head of the institution that the candidate will be completing the internship by 31st March, 2014; permanent/provisional registration certificate issued by MCI/State Medical Council; two self addressed registered envelopes; two recent passport size colored photographs (photographs should be same as affixed on the application form and the admit card)
Application form complete in all respect along with a demand draft of Rs 3500/- (Rs three thousand five hundred only) should be sent to the Controller of Examinations, HIHT University, Swami Ram Nagar, Doiwala, Dehradun-248140, Uttarakhand by speed post/registered post or deposited by hand at the office of the Controller of Examinations
Application received after the prescribed last date shall be rejected

Commencing August 2014

Course

Eligibility Conditions:

Unmarried Male Indian citizens and subjects of Nepal and Bhutan
Educational Qualifications: Qualified in 10+2/ equivalent examination with Maths and Physics and at least one of these subjects; Chemistry/Biology/Computer science
Age: Candidates should have been born between 01st Aug 1993 to 31st Jul 1997(Both dates inclusive)

Selection Criteria:

Selection of recruits is based on the order of merit on their performance in Written Test, qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examinations
Written Test:
(a) The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi / English) and objective type
(b) The question paper will comprise of four sections i.e. English, Science, Mathematics and General Knowledge
(c) The standard of the question paper will be that of 10+2 and the syllabus for the exam is available on website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in
(d) Duration of question paper will be of one hour
(e) The candidates are required to pass in all sections and in aggregate

Physical Fitness Test (PFT):

PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups
Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk
Medical Standards:
Medical Exam will be conducted by authorised military doctors as per medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry
Minimum height 157 cms
Weight and Chest should be proportionate
Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms
Good mental, medical and physical health free from any disease/disability, likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties. Colour perception: CP II
No Cardio- vascular disease, surgical deformities like knock knee, flat feet etc. infection of ears, no history of fits or psychiatric ailment, varicose vein, corrective surgery for eye sight etc
Medical standard should be as per the detailed guidelines issued by IHQ MoD (Navy) in No (Spl) 01/2008
Note: Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed from teeth prior to exam
Visual Standards:
Without Glasses: Better Eye 6/6; Worse Eye 6/9; With Glasses: Better Eye 6/6; Worse Eye 6/6
Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on inner face of forearms i.e. from in side of elbow to the wrist and on the reversed side of palm/ back (dorsal) side of hand
Permanent body tattoos on any other part of the body is not acceptable and candidate will be barred from recruitment
Final Enrolment Medical Exam:
All select list candidates who are issued with a call letter for final medical exam will have to undergo final enrolment medical exam at INS Chilka prior to enrolment
Candidates found unfit during this medical exam will not be enrolled for training. No “appeal” is permitted for review after the final enrolment medical exam at INS Chilka
Training and Initial Engagement:
Training: The training for the course will commence in Aug-2014, with 24 weeks Basic training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval training establishments
Branch/Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of service
Discharge as Unsuitable: Sailors are liable to be discharged as Unsuitable due to unsatisfactory performance at any time during the training
Initial Engagement: The initial engagement is subjected to successful completion of training and is for a period of 15 years
Selection Procedure: 
The applications are to be filled online on website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in
The selection procedure is as follows:
Print out of online application will be received only through Ordinary Post. Application received through speed post/ registered post or couriers will be rejected
Short-listing criteria will be based on percentage of marks scored in 10+2
Call up letters cum admit card for eligible short listed candidates indicating date, time and place for recruitment tests, which are scheduled during Mar/Apr 2014 are required to be downloaded from internet site www.nausena-bharti.nic.in
Candidates can be allotted any centre view administrative reasons
All original certificates, mark sheets and NCC certificate (if held) are to be produced at the time of written exam
If the details provided in ‘online application’ are not matching with original documents, your candidature will be cancelled
Results of the written test will be announced on the same day and those who qualify written test will under go PFT and recruitment Medical Exam (Preliminary), which may take 1-2 days
Candidates declared Temporary Medically Unfit in the recruitment medical could avail specialist review from the specified Military Hospital within a maximum period of 21 days
No further review/appeal is permissible if declared unfit in the specialist review
Candidates declared Permanent Medically unfit in the recruitment medical can appeal for specialist opinion in a Military Hospital on payment of Rs 40/- by military receivable order (MRO) on Govt Treasury within 21 days
Medical fitness certificate other than that of the specialist opinion in a Military Hospital will not be considered. No further review/appeal is permissible
The candidates who qualify in all respects will be short listed depending upon the vacancies
The select list will be available on website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in on 27th Jun 2014
All candidates whose names appear in the select list and have been declared medically fit in the recruitment medical would be required to report to INS Chilka. However, enrolment will be subject to Fitness in Enrolment Medical at INS Chilka
The candidate’s selection pertaining to a particular batch is valid for that batch only
Qualified candidates whose names do not appear in the final select list cannot claim admission for the next batch
Call letter for final medical examination will be forwarded only to medically qualified candidates in the select list. Unsuccessful candidates will not be intimated separately
All select listed candidates will also be forwarded police verification form alongwith the call letter for final medical exam
The candidates will be required to submit the same to INS Chilka after getting their antecedents verified on this form the concerned district police authorities
No enquiry will be entertained regarding recruitment / enrolment after a period of six months
Pay and Allowances:
During the initial training period, stipend of Rs.5700/- p.m. will be admissible but on successful completion of initial training an amount equal to the minimum of scale as mentioned below, less stipend already paid, shall be admissible with retrospective effect
On completion of initial training, they will be placed in the Pay Band Rs.5200/- to 20200/-
In addition they will be paid Grade Pay @Rs.2000/- plus MSP @Rs. 2000/- plus DA
Promotion: Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I (equivalent to Subedar Major) with pay scale of Rs.9300/- to 34800/- plus Grade Pay @Rs.4800/- plus MSP @Rs. 2000/- plus DA
Opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well and qualify the prescribed exams
Perquisites: During the entire period of training and thereafter, sailors are given books, reading material, uniform, food and accommodation etc. free of cost
Sailors are entitled to medical treatment, Leave Travel Concessions for self and dependents, group housing benefits and other privileges
Sailors are also entitled to Annual and Casual Leave, Children education and house rent allowances. Post retirement benefits include pension, gratuity and Leave encashment
All perquisites are extended as per service conditions and their eligibility/admissibility is regulated as per govt. orders in force and amended from time to time
