The Union Public Service Commission conducts a national competitive examination in India to recruit various civil services of the Indian government, including the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, and Indian Police Service. So, this is a golden opportunity for those who have civil service aspirant. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the civil service prelims exam (CSE) 2021. You can apply Online by using the website https://upsconline.nic.in. Detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the website, as mentioned above. The candidates declared by the Commission to have qualified for admission to the Civil Services (Main) Examination will have to apply online again. The number of vacancies to be filled through the examination is approximately 712, including 22 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category.
The online Applications can be filled up to 24th March, 2021 till 6:00 PM. The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available on the UPSC website for downloading by candidates. You should note down the UPSC mentioned: "No Admit Card will be sent by post".
The Civil Services Examination will consist of two successive stages (i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and (ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services. The prelims will be held on June 27.
The pattern of the preliminary examination shall comprise of two compulsory Papers of 200 marks each. Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions), and each will be of two hours duration. The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%. And The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English. Candidates should note that there will be a penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers.
Age Limits:
The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have reached 32 years on the 1st of August, 2021. The upper age-limit prescribed above will be relaxable for a maximum of five years for SC & ST, ex-servicemen, three years for OBC and ten years for PwBD.
Minimum Educational Qualification:
The candidate must hold a degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification and also who intend to appear at such a qualifying examination will also be eligible for admission to the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination.
Number of Attempts:
Every candidate appearing at the otherwise eligible examination shall be permitted six (6) attempts, 09 for GL/EWS/OBC Unlimited for SC/ST at the CSE.
Fee for Exam
Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay Rs fee. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred only) either by remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India or using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card or using Internet Banking of SBI.
