Amrita Engineering Entrance Exam (AEEE )

AEEE 2017 will be conducted online from April 20 to April 23, while the entrance exam will be held in offline mode on April 29. AEEE 2017 Application Form has been released by Amrita University on Demeber 1, 2016 in both online and offline mode. The last date to submit the application form of AEEE 2017 isMarch 31, 2017. AEEE 2017 is a university level entrance exam conducted for admissions to various undergraduate engineering courses. On the basis of the ranks obtained by the candidates in AEEE 2017, they will be offered admissions to B.Tech/B.E. programmes available across colleges affiliated to the university.

  • Candidates must have been the age of 21 or less by the time he/she is applying for AEEE 2017. Last year, the eligibility required the candidates to have been born on or after July 1, 1995 for appearing in AEEE.
  • Applicants must have passed in 10+2 or its equivalent with an aggregate of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. They are required to secure 55% marks in each of these three subjects.
  • Candidates having three year diploma in engineering with minimum 60% marks, awarded by any State Board of Technical Education are also eligible for AEEE 2017.
Important Note: Those, who appear for the above examinations in March/April 2017 and expect to secure minimum marks as mentioned above, may also apply for AEEE 2017.

  • AEEE 2017 will be conducted in two separate modes - Computer Based Test (CBT) and Paper & Pencil Based Test (P&P). Applicants can choose any one of the two modes as per their choice.
  • Duration of exam is 2.30 hours.
  • English will be the only language to answer the exam paper of AEEE 2017.
  • Candidates will be awarded three marks for every correct answer and one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • If any response is not indicated by a candidate in the answer sheet against a question, then no marks, positive or negative, will be awarded. If more than one answer is indicated against a question asked, it will be treated as incorrect answer and negative marks will be awarded.
Note: Candidates are advised to mark an answer only if they are sure about the correct answer.

Important Points about AEEE 2017 Computer Based Test (CBT):
  • Candidates must be computer savvy. Candidates will be provided computers which are connected to the server.
  • There will be100 multiple choice questions in this CBT mode. The candidates are required to answer all the questions.
  • Candidates in different slots will get different question sets.
AEEE 2017 Paper & Pencil Based Test (P&P):
  • In this mode of exam, candidates will be provided printed question booklets.
  • There will be 100 multiple choice questions in this P&P mode.
  • Candidates must bring black ball point pen, HB pencils, pencil sharpener and eraser.

Amrita University has released AEEE 2017 Application form on December 1, 2016 in online and offline mode. The deadline of online and offline application form of AEEE 2017 is March 31, 2017. Applicants will have to fill their details in the application form of AEEE 2017 like personal details, educational background, marks obtained in qualifying exams, contact details, etc.

  • Candidates need to get the printed OMR application form of AEEE 2017 from the university’s sales outlet - Post Offices and Banks. They are required to pay the application fee of AEEE 2017 of Rs. 1,000.
  • Candidates can also obtain AEEE 2017 application form directly from university counter of Amrita Schools of Engineering at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore by submitting a demand draft of Rs. 1000 drawn in favour of Amrita School of Engineering payable at Coimbatore.

AEEE 2017 Printed OMR Application Form by post
As per the guidelines of Amrita University, candidates will be able to obtain AEEE 2017 printed OMR application form by post from the admission coordinators of Amrita Schools of Engineering at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore (Address mentioned below), on a written request indicating their full communication address together with a Demand Draft for Rs. 1000 drawn in favour of Amrita School of Engineering payable at Coimbatore.

Important points about AEEE 2017 application form:
  1. On the back of the demand draft, the candidate need to mention “B.Tech Application”, his/her name and mobile number.
  2. The applicants are required to take a photocopy of the filled in application and Demand Draft with them for future reference.
  3. Duly filled-in application form shall be sent to the address given at the bottom of this page.

Declaration of AEEE 2017 Ranks

Candidates can download AEEE 2017 admit card/hall ticket by using AEEE 2017 application number and date of birth. AEEE 2017 Hall Ticket will not be sent by post to any candidate. Without a valid hall ticket of AEEE 2017, candidates will not be allowed to appear in the entrance test. Candidates are required to produce any of the following documents mentioned below to prove their identity:
  • Voter ID Card
  • Aadhaar Card
  • ID Card issued by the school last attended
  • Any other authentic document which proves identity.
The Hall Ticket of AEEE 2017carries particulars like name and registration number of the candidate, date of exam, the address of the exam centre allotted to the candidate, etc. Candidates are required to preserve the hall ticket of AEEE 2017 duly signed by the invigilator till the time the counselling process gets over.

AEEE 2017 exam centres are the venues where the candidates will be appearing for the entrance test in different town and cities. AEEE 2017 Computer Based Test for AEEE 2017 will be conducted tentatively across 67 centres in different cities, while AEEE 2017 Pen & Paper based test will take place across 36 centres in different cities.

Amrita University will declare AEEE 2017 cutoff for undergraduate engineering programmes. The cutoff of AEEE 2017 is the closing rank of different branches at three campuses of the university located in Coimbatore, Amritapuri and Bengaluru after which no allotment of seat will be conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering branches across its 3 campuses. AEEE 2017 cutoff will be determined on the basis of total number of seats available in the engineering college, reservation criteria and the merit of the examinees.

The result of AEEE 2017 will be declared by Amrita University tentatively in the first week of May. AEEE 2017 Result is released in the form of candidates’ ranks. AEEE 2017 Rank List displays the All India Ranks of the candidates who have appeared for Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering (CBT or P&P mode). Candidates can check and download AEEE result by entering their AEEE 2017 registration number, date of birth and code.

  • Qualified candidates in the entrance test will be admitted to undergraduate engineering programmes through AEEE 2017 counselling.
  • Candidates are required to attend AEEE 2017 counselling in any one of the three campuses of Amrita University as per their convenience.
  • Candidates can opt for any branch in any one of the three campuses as per their preferences and availability of the seats at the time of counselling.
  • Counselling schedule of AEEE 2017 will be published along with the rank list tentatively in the first week of May.
  • Candidates can download their counselling call letter tentatively from the second week of May.
The seat allotment of AEEE will be based on the ranks secured by the candidates in AEEE 2017 exam, eligibility and branch preference. If any candidate is found to be ineligible at a later date, his/her admission will be subject to cancellation. AEEE 2017 Seat Allotment procedure will be conducted tentatively from first week of June to third week of June 2017 for different categories.
