Ph.D Scholarship 2014
Applications are invited from academically outstanding Indian students
to study for a postgraduate programme at Imperial College London
Scholarships are available for Indian nationals residing in India,
generously provided by the alumni and supporters of the Imperial College
India Foundation
Two full Ph.D studentships, each lasting
three years, are available for Indian nationals who also reside in
India, provided by the alumni and supporters of the foundation
For entry in 2014, there is one full PhD studentships and two funded Master’s studentships available
For study in the following departments:Aeronautics,
Bioengineering, Centre for Environmental Policy, Chemical Engineering,
Chemistry, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computing, Earth Science
and Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Life Sciences,
Materials, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics and Imperial
College Business School
A committee comprising foundation members and colleges academic staff will select candidates
Eligibility: To be eligible for a
Scholarship candidates must have been offered admission to study on a
postgraduate programme (either M.Sc or PhD) by the Faculty of
Engineering, Faculty of Natural Sciences or by the Imperial College
Business School, having applied through the normal application process;
display intellectual ability and leadership potential; and be committed
to engaging with society and using their abilities to contribute to
India on their return be deemed in need of financial support in order to
pursue their studies have an adequate standard of English, i.e. at
least 6.5 in IELTS; demonstrate an intention to return to India within
three (3) years of completing the degree at the College
Priority will be given to students who have not already completed a degree at a higher education institute outside India
Scholarship: Each scholarship covers the
full cost of (overseas) tuition fees, a maintenance allowance, some
additional costs, and an airfare to India
This includes maintenance allowance equal to Imperial’s minimum stipend allowance in any given year; one return flight to India
Application Form: Candidates apply directly to the College using the standard registry application process

The form must be signed by the student's supervisor and head of department
Candidates submit the application form along with a copy of the College application and parental tax returns
The application deadline for Oct 2014 entry is 14th Mar 2014 (Friday)
