Eligibility: 
Applicant for admission should be a resident Indian national and should have studied in schools located in India in the preceding two years and completed their qualifying examination. 

For B.Tech at Kattankulathur Campus, applicant should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent and scored minimum of 65% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry for all courses. For Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering and Genetic Engineering applicant should have scored minimum of 65% aggregate in Mathematics / Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

For B.Tech at other Campuses, applicant should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent and scored a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry.

For admission to B.Des, applicant should have a pass in 10+2 or its equivalent in academic stream having a minimum total aggregate of 65%.

For admission to B.Arch, applicant should have a pass in 10+2 or its equivalent having a minimum total aggregate of 65% with English and Mathematics as subjects of study or 10+3 Diploma (Any Stream) recognized by Central/State Government with 65% aggregate marks. Applicant should also have a pass in National Aptitude test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture. No separate entrance examination will be conducted by SRM University. However, the candidates have to apply in the prescribed application form for admission to B.Arch. program.

Selection Process: 
For B.Tech Program; the admission will be purely on the basis of the performance in the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) conducted by SRM University. The candidates short-listed based on their performance in the entrance examination will be called for the counseling to be held at the SRM University premises in Kattankulathur, Chennai

For B. Arch. Program: Admission to B.Arch. program will be based on the aggregate of marks secured in the qualifying examination & NATA score. The meritorious candidate list will be drawn giving 50% weightage to aggregate of total marks secured in qualifying examination & 50% weightage to NATA score. Based on the ranking, admissions will be offered to the candidate.

For B.Des Program: Admission to B.Des. Program will be purely on the basis of performance in the Higher Secondary examination. Candidates short listed based on their Higher Secondary marks will be offered admission directly.

Fee: Cost of application form is Rs.1000/-.

Application: Application can be submitted online at http://www.srmuniv.ac.in/admissions with e-payment or by using unique voucher code. Application may also be downloaded from the website and submitted to ‘The Director, The Directorate of Admissions, SRM University, Kattankulathur, Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu 603203’, with a DD for Rs.1000/- drawn in favour of SRMIST, payable at Chennai.  Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of DD. The application will be processed only upon receipt of the DD. 

Those who obtain the OMR application form should send the ­filled application to the university address mentioned in the envelope so as to reach before the last date specified. Last date for receipt of fi­lled-in application at the university offi­ce is 15th March 2016. Slot booking for online examination can be done between 26th and 30th March 2016.

SRMJEEE-2016: 
SRMJEEE - 2016 will be held online between 19th April, 2016 and 25th April 2016 at various centres listed in the Guide to SRM JEE available at the website. Question paper will be only in English and will be of objective type. It will have 35 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Part 1, part 2 and Part 3, each with a weightage of 105 marks. In Part 4, there will be 50 questions from Biology with a total weightage of 105 marks. Candidates who attempt Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the SRMJEEE are eligible for all the B.Tech degree programs. Candidates who have attempted Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the SRMJEEE are eligible for B.Tech Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics and Genetic engineering programs.
 
Each question has 4 alternate answers from which the correct answer is to be chosen. Each correct answer will get 3 marks. One mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.  Applicant is required to be present in the Test Centre 30 minutes before the starting time of the Test as speci­fied in the admit card. Applicant is allowed to carry only pen / pencil inside the test centre and will be required to produce Hall Ticket and ID proof (which bears photograph and date of birth) at the registration desk without which the entry will not be allowed. For working purpose a paper sheet will be provided at the workstation. All rough work will need to be done in this sheet of paper and no additional material will be given for rough work.

COMEDK UGET on May 8 : Apply by April 4


Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) will conduct Under Graduate Entrance Test 2016 (UGET-2016) for admission to Undergraduate Medical, Dental and Engineering courses on 8th May, 2016 (Sunday) at centers across the country.

The UGET 2016 will be an online computer based test. The Entrance Test is mandatory for all candidates seeking admissions to MBBS/BDS/B.E courses in Member Institutions of COMEDK. A merit / rank is generated based on the candidate's scores in entrance test only. 

Those desirous of appearing for Engineering Courses have to take the test in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, for Medical and Dental Courses the test in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Those appearing for Engineering and Medical/Dental courses have to take the tests in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, Biology and English. 
The test for Physics and Chemistry will be from 10 am to 12 noon and that for Mathematics from 12 noon to 1 pm. The test for Biology and English will be from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

There will be 60 questions from each subject for the test. Questions will be of the Multiple Choice Type. Each MCQ will carry 1 mark. There will not be any negative marking. However, in the event of a tie in the test score the principle of least negative responses (Number of wrong answers) will be adopted. In addition, if required, other methods may be adopted to break ties. 

The entrance test is based on the existing syllabus of 10 + 2 / 12th STD / 2nd PUC. Mock Test will be available online from 20th February 2016 (Saturday).  Anyone from any place in the country can appear for the UGET 2016 entrance examination. 

For UG Medical and Dental Courses, applicant should have qualified in second PUC or 10+2 or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government, with the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject. General Merit candidates must have passed these subjects (PCB) individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in PCB (40% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State). Those appearing for the prescribed qualifying examination are also eligible to apply. 
General Merit candidates must also secure not less than 50% marks (40% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) in aggregate in PCB subjects in the COMEDK UG entrance test 2016. Questions will be there from English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. General Merit candidates should secure not less than 50% marks in English (40% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) in the entrance test. However, the marks so secured in English will not be added for the determination of rank which shall be decided exclusively based on the marks secured by the candidates in PCB subjects. Further, a candidate is not entitled for a rank if he/she fails to secure 50% or 40% of the marks as the case may be in English. The paper on English language will be normally of second PUC or 10+2 standard and will test the candidate’s comprehension of the language, the structure of words, phrases, clauses and sentences. 

Applicant shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December, 2016. Those who have passed the qualifying examination prior to 2014, those having qualified earlier and selected an MBBS seat through COMEDK but failed to join the college so selected or failed to surrender the said seat at the COMEDK level for valid reasons or having joined the college so selected failed to pursue the course, those already pursuing Medical UG course anywhere in India, those who were caught attempting to impersonate or found following / adopting any of the malpractices earlier including entertaining touts or agents etc; are not eligible.

For UG Engineering Courses, applicant should have passed the second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government; the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject. 

General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted. 

An attempt in the COMEDK Entrance Test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the rank. Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions. 

For UG Architecture Courses, applicant should have passed second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka).

The candidates should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture with a minimum score of 80 out of 200 marks for both General Merit and Category students. There shall be no Entrance Test conducted by COMEDK for candidates seeking admission to B. Arch Course.  Those seeking B. Arch course shall submit separate application form. 

The Candidates have to register themselves at www.comedk.org. The candidates may access the ‘How to Apply’ Document, general instructions and the explanation for filling the required fields through the link in the website www.comedk.org. Information Bulletin is available at https://www.comedk.org/. The fee for COMEDK UGET 2016 is Rs. 1200/- (For PCM / PCB) and Rs. 1500 (For PCMB). Applicant should select the payment mode (Online/ Offline). 

Applicants choosing online payment can pay the application fee online through Net Banking, Credit Card and Debit Card. Last date for offline payment of fee is 31st March 2016 (Thursday). Offline Payment can be made through Bank Challan at any branch of Axis Bank. List of branches of the bank is given at www.axisbank.com/. Applicant should select Offline (Challan based) Payment option and follow the procedure prescribed to download the Pre-printed Challan. Applicant should take Print out of the Challan and pay the Application fees at an Axis bank branch. They should then re-log in to the Application Portal, upload the Signed/Sealed Challan scanned copy, enter the Signed/Sealed Challan details, select the test city preference and submit the Application.

Online Registration for COMEDK can be done up to 23.50 hrs on 4th April 2016. Online Test Admission Ticket will be available under applicant login of the COMEDK website from 30/04/2016. Candidates appearing for the Test should download & obtain printout of the Online Test Admission Ticket (Online TAT). No Test Admission Ticket (TAT) will be dispatched either by email or post or courier or in person to the candidates under any circumstances. Applicants have to retain the TAT for counseling and until the completion of the Admission process. Last date for downloading of Online Test Admission Ticket (TAT) is 7th May 2016 (Saturday). 

Provisional Answer Keys will be published on 11th May 2016 (Wednesday).  Objections/challenges of Provisional Answer keys can be made from this date up to 16th May, 2016. Clarification regarding provisional answer key should be submitted online in the format made available with a fee of Rs.500/- per clarification to be paid online only. Only if the clarification sought is upheld, the money would be refunded in full after the COMEDK UGET 2016 process is completed. Final Answer key will be published on 26th May, 2016. Results will be declared by 28th May 2016.

Eligibility
Applicant should hold Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering/Technology, 4-years B.Sc. (Physician Assistant Course) or Medicine (MBBS) or B.D.S. with at least 55% marks.

All the SC/ST and PWD candidates who have passed the qualifying examination are eligible to apply irrespective of their percentage of marks in the qualifying examination.

Those who are due to appear in the respective qualifying examination prescribed as eligibility for admission shall also be considered for appearing in the entrance examination. Such of the candidates will be allowed to appear in the entrance examination at their own risk and on the clear stipulation that in the event of their selection, they will be entitled to admission only if they secure the minimum prescribed percentage of marks in their qualifying degree examination and that they will be required to submit all the documents including final mark-sheet of the qualifying examination (indicating the final and overall percentage of marks) before the deadline for admission fixed by the concerned participating University.

Pattern of exam
The Entrance Examination will be held from 9 am to 12 noon on May 19, 2016. The detail of these examination centres is shown under Section XIII of the Prospectus.

The question paper for the Entrance Examination will be of three hours duration and divided into two parts. Part-A will have multiple choice type questions at the level of 10+2 from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology each carrying 1 mark. For each wrong answer, ½ (half) mark will be deducted. Part-B will also have multiple-choice questions of Bachelor’s level requiring thinking and analysis. There will be questions from Physics, Mathematics, Biology (e.g., Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics and Molecular Biology) and Chemistry. There will be a total of 60 questions, each carrying 3 marks. One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Syllabus for the test is available in the Prospectus. Question papers pertaining to the last three years are available on JNU website http://www.jnu.ac.in.

How to apply
Examination Fee for General Category Candidates including OBC Candidates is Rs. 1000/-. For SC/ST/PWD Category Candidates, it is Rs. 500/-.  For Foreign Nationals, it is US$ 40.00 or Rs.2640/-. 

Applications can be submitted online at https://admissions.jnu.ac.in/Default2.aspx till 5 p.m. on 21st March, 2016.Those doing online registration can pay the fee by depositing cash in any of the SBI branch which is CBS enabled and which are given in the List. Applicant may visit the admissions.jnu.ac.in, select appropriate fee payment link (Application Fee), fill details and select ‘Cash Deposit at Bank (E Slip)’, as payment mode. Applicant should generate and Print e-slip and deposit your fee payment at bank on next working day of e-Slip generation. Payment status will be reflected on website after 48 hours. Application fee can also be paid through any bank Debit/Credit Card or through Internet Banking. 

Offline Application Forms (by Post) will also be issued till 10th March, 2016. Applicant can pay the examination fee by way of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘Jawaharlal Nehru University’, payable at New Delhi.

Applicant should Insert Bank Draft in the 9" X 4" size envelope supplied with the Application Form. The Application Form (Refold the application form where it is originally folded) and the cover containing the bank draft should be put in the 10" X 7" size envelope supplied with the Application Form. Filled application must be submitted only by Registered Post/Speed Post to Section Officer (Admissions), Room No.28, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi - 110067. The completed offline Application Form must reach JNU latest by 23rd March, 2016.

The candidates may download their Admit Card from the University’s website, http://www.jnu.ac.in around 10th May 2016 and take the Admit Card to the Examination Centre with a copy of latest passport size photograph. 

Those candidates who are not able to download the Admit Card are advised to contact either the JNU Representative, who will be available at the Examination Centre at least a day in advance or the Presiding Officer/Principal of the Centre to sort out the problems. 

Selection process
The selection will depend strictly on the inter-se merit of the candidate in the Entrance Examination and preferences for joining the Universities indicated by the candidate. In case a candidate has not indicated his/her choice for joining a particular University, his/her name will not be considered for that University. After the merit list is drawn, more than double the number of candidates than the total intake only will be informed of their merit rank in the entrance examination. The candidates will also be informed about the total number of seats in each participating University. The candidates will be asked to exercise their options for joining the Universities in the proforma, which will be sent by JNU. 

The candidates will be asked to send to JNU a Bank Draft of Rs.5,000/- ( Rs.2,500/- in the case of SC, ST, PWD candidates) as initial security deposit giving their willingness to be considered for admission to the participating Universities in accordance with their options.  All candidates are adv ised to check the result on the web site of the university (http://www. jnu.ac.in) in the second week of June. Once allotment of University is made, other options of the universities given by the candidate shall stand frozen. Candidates should check the allotment of university on the web site of the university (http://www.jnu.ac.in) in the first/second week of July. 

The participating university will then inform the candidate about the complete admission procedure and schedule of their university as well as the amount of fee etc. to be deposited by the candidate. The initial security deposit already sent by the candidate through demand draft to JNU will be sent to the concerned University for refund to the students after first semester. In case the candidate is offered admission in accordance with his/her options, but subsequently either does not join the concerned University or withdraw after joining during the first semester then in that event, the initial deposit of Rs. 5,000/- and Rs.2,500/- for General/ OBC and SC/ST/PWD categories respectively, shall stand forfeited. The initial security deposit of Rs.5,000/-, (Rs.2,500/- in the case of SC/ST, PWD category candidates) will be refunded in full to those of the candidates who are not offered admission to any of the participating university. 

Request for transfer from one university to another will not be entertained under any circumstances. 
Students selected for admission to M.Sc. Biotechnology Programme of the participating Universities will be eligible to receive scholarship at the rate of Rs.3000/- p.m. The scholarship of Rs. 3000/- p.m. for students joining M.Sc. Biotechnology programme at the School of Biotechnology of JNU would be awarded to all the students during first semester. In the subsequent semesters, the scholarship will be extended only in respect of those students who secure minimum CGPA of 6.00 in the end-semester examinations.

15%, 7½% and 3% of seats shall be reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Person with Disability (PWD) candidates respectively. 10% marks will be added to the overall marks scored by a Kashmiri migrant candidate in the Entrance Examination. After adding 10% marks, in case he/she is covered in the cut-off point in the merit list, he/she will be offered admission strictly in accordance with his/her inter-se merit along with other candidates subject to his/her meeting the minimum prescribed eligibility requirements and also subject to his/ her producing valid registration documents issued by the notified authorities certifying the candidate’s Kashmiri migrant status.

Admission 2016 at BITS Pilani

(i) For admission to all the above programmes except B.Pharm: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and adequate proficiency in English.
(ii) For admission to B.Pharm: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination of 10+2 system from a recognized Central or State board or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and adequate proficiency in English. However candidates with PCM may also apply for Pharmacy program.
 
Admission to all the programmes is subject to the conditions given below.
The candidate should have obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects (if he/she has taken Mathematics in BITSAT) or a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects (if he/she has taken Biology in BITSAT) subjects in 12th examination, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology subjects.
Only Students who are appearing for 12th examination in 2016 or who have passed 12th Examination in 2015 are eligible to appear in the BITSAT-2016 test. If a candidate has taken more than one attempt in 12th class or its equivalent, only his latest performance is considered, provided this attempt has been for the full component of subjects/courses prescribed.

How to apply:
Interested candidates should register their names for BITSAT-2016 by applying in the prescribed application form online. Complete the application form online at http://www.bitsadmission.com and pay the prescribed fees. Also take the print out of the filled form for your future reference. The prescribed fee for BITSAT 2016 is Rs. 2200/-(Rs. 1700/- for female candidates).
If a candidate chooses Dubai as a test center the application fee for both male and female candidates will be same and will be US $ 50 (or Indian Rs. 3000/-).

In addition to applying and appearing for BITSAT-2016, candidates have to also apply for admission to BITS giving details of their 12th marks and preferences to different degree programmes offered. BITSAT-2016 Test Format:
BITSAT-2016 will be of total 3-hour duration (without break). The test consists of four parts:
Part I : Physics
Part II : Chemistry
Part III : (a) English Proficiency and (b) Logical Reasoning
Part IV : Mathematics or Biology (For B.Pharm candidates)

All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions); each question with choice of four answers, only one being correct choice. Each correct answer fetches 3 marks, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark (-1mark). No marks are awarded for questions not attempted. While the candidate can skip a question, the computer will not allow the candidate to choose more than one option as correct answer. There will be 150 questions in all.
