The Fellow Programme in Management (FPM) is the doctoral programme of IIM Ranchi
This programme has the objective of developing outstanding scholars for teaching or research careers at business schools/universities or management research institutions or careers in Govt., industry, NGOs or for that matter any organization that requires advanced analytical and research capabilities
Areas of Specialization: Economics, Finance & Accounting, General Management including Neuromanagement, Human Resource Management, Information Systems & Business Analytics, Marketing, Operations Management & Decision Science, Organizational Behavior and Strategic Management
Eligibility: The candidates for the programme must have one of the following qualifications obtained from any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions estd by an act of parliament or declared to be deemed as a university u/s 3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, or an equivalent qualification from an institution approved by AICTE
A candidate for the FPM at IIM Ranchi should have:
A Master’s degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 60% aggregate marks
Candidates who have MA/M.Sc/M.Phil in Mathematics, Statistics, Psychology, Neuro-Psychology, Sociology, Linguistics, engineering etc. can also apply; or
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture with 60% marks or equivalent grade point average; or
Any professional qualifications such as CA, ICWA and CS with a minimum 55% aggregate marks
Note: Candidates in their final year of the respective educational programme as mentioned above can also apply
However, their admission to the programme will be provisional subject to their successful completion of all requirements for obtaining the relevant degree before 30 June 2014
Selection Procedure: All candidates applying to the FPM except Alumni of the Post Graduate Programs from all IIMs, graduated in the period of 4 years preceding 30th June 2014, are required to take theCommon Admission Test (CAT) or a standard test in lieu of CAT such as GMAT/GATE/UGC or CSIR-JRF
For NRIs and foreign students this standard test is the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)
Candidates will be shortlisted and called for an interview for final selection on the basis of their performance in CAT or the standard test in lieu of CAT, academic background, and experience
PGPs from IIMs graduated in the period of 4 years preceding 30th June 2014 may be considered for direct admission into the second year of the FPM-based on their academic performance during their PGP

Financial and Other Supports

IIM Ranchi has excellent facilities in library, computing and faculty resources
IIM Ranchi provides comprehensive financial and other support to the Fellow Programme students as indicated below:

Financial Support for 4 years:

Monthly stipend of Rs.30,000/- per month for the first two years
In the remaining two years, Rs.35,000/- per month (Current figure, to be reviewed) subject to qualifying the Comprehensive examinations at the end of the second year
Support of stipend for an additional 6 months may be made in exceptional cases
The duration of the financial support will be reduced by one year in case of candidates admitted directly into the 02nd of the programme
Tuition fee waiver for the entire period
Accommodation, on payment of a nominal rent of Rs.1000/- per month, will be provided subject to availability
Contingency allowance of Rs.25,000/- per annum for 4 years for the purchase of books, stationary etc
Grant of Rs.50,000/- in the first year for the purchase of computer and software and other peripherals
Financial support up to Rs2,00,000/-(Current figure, to be reviewed.) shall be provided for presenting papers in domestic and international conferences during the entire tenure of the Fellow Programme
The FPM participants have to pay for all consumables which includes stationery, utility charges in hostels, boarding charges etc

Women Studies Programme: In case of work experience (minimum 2 years) in an NGO (related to gender issues), again candidate must provide research publications or their equivalent. OBJECTIVE
The Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID) and Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) will co-host a five day Workshop-cum-Conference on "Pharmaceutical Policies in India: Balancing Industrial and Public Health Interests", during 03-07 March 2014, in New Delhi. It includes several plenary and technical sessions with a focus on industrial policy-health interface. Several national experts, policy makers, civil society groups, academia and media would participate in the five day deliberations. The workshop-cum-conference is expected to deliberate and discuss the ways and means of strengthening the pharmaceutical policies in India and the key challenges it faces.
Some of the broad themes of the workshop-cum-conference would include: i) Access to medicines: policies and institutions for availability, rationality, quality and affordability including medicines pricing; ii) Local production of drugs and pharmaceuticals; iii) promotion and marketing of medicines; iv) R&D, innovation and intellectual property rights and v) Foreign and domestic investment in drugs and pharmaceuticals. Specific issues underlying these themes are expected to focus on the implications for both industrial development and access to essential medicines.

Desirable qualification: M.Phil in Agricultural Economics and publications.

ICSSR Institutional Doctoral Fellowships for the year 2013-2014 in Economics and Sociology

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for award of ICSSR Institutional Doctoral Fellowships in Economics and Sociology only for the year 2013-2014. Institute of Economic Growth has been allocated Six Fellowships (5 ordinary and 1 Salary Protected).
Eligibility:
1. Postgraduate in Social Sciences with at least 55% marks.
2. Relaxation of 5% marks/corresponding grades will be made for SC/ST candidates.
3. The candidate should have cleared National Eligibility Test (NET for JRF/ Lectureship or completed M.Phil or have two years research experience (a certificate to this effect to be attached from the concerned authority) or have at least two research articles published in professional journals in social sciences. (reprints to be attached).
4. The applicant must be registered for Ph.D under the supervision of one of the faculty members recognized by the university as his/her guide or co-guide. Those who are not yet registered may also apply; they will have to get registered within six months from the award of fellowship.
Age:
The upper age limit for a doctoral fellow is below 35 years as on February 15, 2014 (relaxable
by 5 years in case of SC/ST). For teachers and professional staff of research institute holding regular post the upper age limit would be 45 years. In exceptional cases, where a candidate is found to have outstanding ability, the age limit may be relaxed marginally at the discretion of ICSSR.
SC/ST candidates, women candidates, minorities and candidates from educationally backward states as indicated by the Government of India will be given priority.
Value and duration: The selected candidates will be paid a fellowship amount of Rs.16,000/- per month plus Rs.15,000/- per annum as contingency grant. Duration of the fellowship is two years and extendable by one year in exceptional cases only.
In case of an employed scholar, the applicant should apply through their
institutions/colleges/
universities, which should certify that it would maintain their lien on the post during the period of the fellowship and allow them to return to it after the period of fellowship is over. Only the employees of those institutions/colleges/universities, which follow UGC/Govt. norms, will be considered. Their salary will be protected. In addition, a contingency grant of Rs.15,000/- per annum will also be paid. Duration of a salary-protected fellowship will, in no case, be more than two years. The fellow will be entitled to allowances as per the rules admissible at the parent institution. The leave salary and pension contribution/employer’s share of CPF contribution will also be borne by the ICSSR.
Only short listed candidates will be called for interview.

Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships

Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships
The Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships are designed for outstanding Indians residing in India to pursue a master’s degree program at selected US colleges and universities in the areas of Arts and Culture Management including Heritage Conservation and Museum Studies; Environmental Science/Studies; Higher Education Administration; Public Health; Urban and Regional Planning; and Women’s Studies/Gender Studies.

These fellowships are for highly motivated individuals who demonstrate leadership qualities, have completed the equivalent of a US bachelor’s degree, have at least three years professional work experience, and are committed to return and contribute to their communities. The fellowships are for one to two years.
Grant Benefits

The fellowship will provide the following benefits:
J-1 visa support; 
Round-trip economy class air travel from fellow's home city to the host institution in the US;
Funding for tuition and fees,* living and related costs; and
Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges per US Government guidelines.
* USIEF funding may not cover all costs and the scholar may need to supplement grant benefits with other resources.

The Fulbright-Nehru Master's Fellowship program provides no financial support for dependents.
Eligibility Requirements

In addition to the General Prerequisites, the applicants should:
you have completed an equivalent of a US bachelor's degree from a recognized Indian university with at least 55% marks. Applicants should either possess a four-year bachelor's degree or a completed master's degree, if the bachelor's degree is of less than four years' duration;
you must have at least three years' full-time (paid or voluntary) professional work experience relevant to their proposed field of study;
you should have demonstrated experience in leadership and community service;
you should not have another degree from a US university or be enrolled in a US degree program; and
If you are employed, please follow the instructions carefully regarding employer's endorsment. If applicable, please obtain the endorsement from the appropriate administrative authority on the FNMasters Employer's Endorsement Form. The employer must indicate that leave will be granted for the fellowship period. 
Eligible Fields of Study

Each applicant should choose one field of study that matches his/her chief area of interest. The following field descriptions are illustrative and applicants should note that individual academic host institution programs of study may differ in course offerings, subspecialties, and academic requirements.

Arts and Culture Management including Heritage Conservation and Museum Studies: The study of all aspects of art and culture management, including arts administration, heritage conservation and museum studies, management of profit and not-for-profit art institutions, among others. These fellowships are not for pursuing graduate degrees in fine or applied art and design or art history, but for the management of the arts.

Environmental Science/Studies: The study of the environment in all its complexities. Subspecialties include: environmental toxicology, natural resource management, pollution prevention, environmental law, environmental engineering and environmental policy analysis, among others.

Higher Education Administration: The study of all aspects of higher education administration including policy planning and management, student affairs, academic affairs, admissions and enrollment management, curriculum design, learning assessment, financial management, alumni and community relations, internationalization of higher education, quality assurance, use of technology in higher education, among others.

Public Health: The study of all aspects of public health including biostatistics, environmental and occupational health, epidemiology, health law, bioethics and human rights, health policy and management, public health delivery systems, international health, and reproductive, maternal and child health, among others.

Urban and Regional Planning: The study of all aspects of urban and regional planning, including infrastructure, transportation policy and planning, water and sanitation, town and rural planning, land use, housing and real estate development, and waste management, among others.

Women’s Studies/Gender Studies: The study of issues relevant to women, feminism, and gender including development, health, history, education, sexuality, law, and policy, among others.
Timeline and Placement Process

July 1, 2014 Application due date for 2015-2016 awards
July-August 2014 Field-specific screening committees review applications to short-list candidates
Mid-late August 2014 National interviews of short-listed candidates in Delhi
Early September 2014 USIEF notifies finalists and alternates that they are recommended and they then take tests (TOEFL and GRE)
October 2014 USIEF forwards applications of recommended candidates to the US for Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB) approval and placement
March-April 2015 USIEF notifies finalists
May-June 2015 Pre-Departure Orientation
July-August 2015 Pre-academic training in the US (if required)
August-September 2015 Degree program begins

Placement of successful candidates is done by the Institute of International Education (IIE), New York. Recommended applicants do not need to apply to US institutions on their own. IIE/Fulbright Program will apply to four different institutions on their behalf, taking into consideration the candidates’ preferred institutions and the candidates’ competitiveness. If a recommended candidate has previously applied to US institutions and has requested a deferral from the institution, the candidate must notify USIEF immediately. If a recommended candidate already has a deferral, then IIE will not apply to any other institution and will seek to confirm placement only at the deferral institution.
